Executive Director

Spencer Kell

Spencer Kell is the founder of Love Soluble Inc. and brings a wealth of lived and professional experience, along with an educational background in addictions. He serves as the Executive Director of Love Soluble and the Center Director at the Manie Daniels Center, working to support individuals on their recovery journey. Spencer also sits on the 7th Step Society of Canada’s national board of directors which aims to help and support formerly incarcerated people inside and outside of the criminal justice system. A senior soldier with the Salvation Army and an associate addictions counselor with the CACCF, Spencer is deeply committed to helping those in need. His leadership and dedication continue to shape Love Soluble’s mission of hope, healing, and transformation.

Chair

Tim StPierre

Tim is a manager in the harm reduction field, supporting individuals who are chronically homeless and navigating complex substance use and mental health challenges. Currently, Tim is studying non-profit management at Simon Fraser University to further enhance his ability to serve my community. With decades of lived experience, he has been in recovery for almost eight years and is deeply committed to using his journey to help others. As a founding member of Love Soluble, Tim is passionate about giving back, knowing firsthand the impact that compassionate support can have.

Vice Chair

Pam Seville

Pam Seville is a dedicated community leader with a lifelong commitment to social impact. A founding member of the Open Door Homeless Shelter for Men, she has also served as Executive Director of the Young Offender Program. As a retired professor from Cape Breton University and a life member of the Cape Breton Hospice Society, she brings deep knowledge and experience to her work. With a BSc and MA, Pam is passionate about creating meaningful change through education and advocacy.

Treasurer

Tom Cadenhead

Tom Cadenhead brings extensive leadership and financial expertise to Love Soluble as Treasurer. Now retired in Clifford, ON, he previously worked as a Technical Service Manager for an industrial products manufacturer. His board experience includes serving on the Board of Directors for the Presbyterian Church in Fergus, Chairing Local Missions and The Door Youth Centre, and holding key roles with Highlands Youth for Christ and The Canadian Bible Society. Tom remains active in his community, also serving on the executive of the Clifford Rotary Club.

Secretary

Jennifer Trentin

Jennifer Trentin is an Addictions Counsellor at an Indigenous treatment center in Quebec, dedicated to supporting individuals on their recovery journeys. She has completed studies in Correctional Intervention Technology, Paralegal Technology, and Indigenous Wellness and Addictions Prevention and is currently pursuing a university Certificate in Psychology. A core group member of the 7th Step Society, she is passionate about psychology, human behavior, and guiding others toward positive change. Jennifer is excited to bring her experience and dedication to the Love Soluble Board of Directors as Secretary.

Mary Cadenhead

Mary Cadenhead is a retired teacher who worked for the Toronto District School Board and now resides in Clifford, ON. She has extensive experience in community leadership, having previously served as Chair of the Board of Managers for a Presbyterian Church in Fergus. In addition to her role on the Love Soluble Board, she is an active member of the Clifford Rotary Club. With a BA and BEd, Mary is passionate about service and supporting meaningful community initiatives.

Christopher Patten

Christopher Patten holds an Honours degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Carleton University. As a dedicated board member of Love Soluble, he is passionate about making a positive impact in the community. He actively volunteers at the Hunger Stop in Carleton Place and participates in various 12-step programs, offering support to those in need. Christopher’s commitment to service reflects his deep belief in fostering hope, resilience, and connection.

Director

Paul Laurie MBA, CCAC, ICADC

Paul has 30 years of experience working as a professional in this field of Substance Use Disorders.  He has many years of experience regarding assessment and support, clinical supervision, program development in all aspects of the continuum of care.  He achieved his Masters of Business Administration in 2002 at Wilfrid Laurier University.  Paul obtained his ICADC certification in 1996 and his CCAC in 2016. Paul has worked in residential treatment settings in the non-profit and for profit models.  Paul has many years of program development, clinical work and staff supervision. Paul has served on the board of directors of CACCF for several years, presently, Paul is the owner of Recovery Works.  He is committed to the work involved in forming and furthering the addictions treatment industry.
